First post ever

This is World of the Unusual, a blog showing how random the world we live in is. Unfortunately, +'s Internet is down, so this post will have to go with or without him. Anyways, what's World of the Unusual about? At least once a week or so, we will post any type of unusual thing we are able to find for that day, even though it happened a while ago. It only has to be "interesting", if you know what I mean.

So, first of all. Happy Birthday Alejandra Chow!

Now, for today's topics.

A man in Colorado robbed two 7-Elevens earlier this morning. What did he use to threaten people? A bat'leth. ... oh...wait a minute... What the hell is a bat'leth?

"The bat'leth is the Klingon longsword, designed by martial arts enthusiast and Star Trek: The Next Generation effects producer Dan Curry.[15] The bat'leth is a curved blade with spiked protrusions and three handholds along the middle of the blade's back. In battle, the handholds are used to twirl and spin the blade rapidly."

... or otherwise known as a toy sword. At this moment I'm thinking either, " who robs someone with a toy sword?" or to make matters worse... "who gets robbed with a toy sword?"

Ok, I know what you're thinking... what about bb guns? Well, they actually look like guns, and not something I used to "defeat the tyrant Molor, and reunite the Klingon Homeworld."

One interesting fact that happened on February 4th, 1703.

In Edo (now Tokyo), 46 of the Forty-seven Ronin commited seppuku (ritual suicide) as recompense for avenging their master's death.

First of all, they should have avenged their master in a more discreet manner. I think that there was only one smart person in that group because I don't think suicide is a gratifying reward for someone, even regarding their culture and the time period.
